At the grocery store checkout…
At the pet store…
A table outside your pharmacy…
Somebody waving and holding a sign on a street corner…
Neighbor collecting donations…
At the cash register in almost every store you visit…

We are good people. We like to give. But the unexpected ask, everywhere we go is getting old. And that money is probably not going where we think it is going. It’s possible some of that money is going into politics. Yikes!
Giving is so meaningful and important, but let’s start saying no, to random asks, and let’s start reaching out to the people and places we want to donate to.
And maybe a little research to make sure it’s going to the people and places that really need the help.
❤️❤️❤️
This is the season of 1000 asks, not to mention all the political donation requests. I figure if I gave to everyone, I’d be destitute and doing the asking!
Thank you for this post. Too often I finish up with emails that I won’t delete in my inbox asking me for money, but this post of yours has freed me from that. So I’m now deleting them because actually I know who I want to give to and why and do not need to give in to the pressure. So thank you for posting XX
Yay! ❤️
Thank you!
